A big old double IPA from our friends Peacetree Brewing to the east in Knoxville, Iowa. Comes in a four pack.
Pours a really hazy copper color. There's no way you're seeing through this beer. Nice mottled head.
Some overripe mango and bran muffin on the nose.
That tastes good. Long and hoppy on the finish but pleasantly malty in the mid. Easy drinking for a double IPA. Hops are earthy and not overwhelming. One of the top two double IPAs I've tried.

Not your typical Marzen style Oktoberfest. Erdinger comes at you with a wheat beer and it's pretty good.
Cloudy body with a white head that is gone after a minute or so.
Smells of whole wheat bread, clove and slightly of banana.
This is going to sound weird, but there's a root beer thing going on in the mid palate. It's easy drinking, slighty spicy and summery. Probably not my pick for an Oktoberfest beer, but if we get another really hot August day this will work.

Poured out a 16oz can. Black as night on the pour. Looks like motor oil. The head a dark tan and disappears fast.
Smells just like an iced coffee, and not one of those phony baloney milkshake with coffee, I'm talking real iced coffee.
Tastes like an iced coffee too. The carbonation and black licorice notes make it taste a bit like a root beer coffee mix.
A little bit thinner than I expected with some surprisingly fun bubbles. A very enjoyable beer. Kind of wish it came in a 12oz can because 16oz is a bit much to drink of this black out coffee stout. Hopefully I'm not up all night from the coffee.

look: 3.5 | smell: 3 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 3 | overall: 4Pint glass. Pours a really dark brown with a foamy white head. After sitting for a minute it looks like a dark brown Guinness.
Nose reminds me of malted chocolate, earth and figs.
Rich coffee on the palate. A bit of a metallic tinge. Heavy malt with some nutty tones. Interesting mouthfeel. Thinnish in the body and lightly carbonated.

Pours a cola colored caramel with a two finger tan head.
Intense smells of game meat, a custardy caramel, and a little bit of smokiness.
On the palate we lose the gaminess and get into some of those 800 calorie coffee drinks you can get at your local coffee establishment. Sweet caramel, mocha, and crisp, bracing bite like you get on the back end of a Coke. The back end is a nice blend of nuttiness and woodiness.

Poured in my recently purchased Fox Hole Tavern pint glass. It's a deep gold color, almost orange. A nice white head.
I'm getting nice ripe tropical fruit on the nose along with sweetbreads, like sugar cookies and a touch of pine.
Fruit is subdued on the palate. A shock of piney hops on the front. next we have a great, rounded maltiness that transitions into some more piney, bitter finishing hops.
Very pleased with this effort from Anchor. Refreshing, crisp, but not crazy hoppy.
